Arcade heroes from way back: the Mario Brothers unpixellated

p2042ex10.jpg

Remember Arcade,Atari,Spectrum and Nintendo . From the 1980s come the Mario Bros. Still plumbing, perhaps, but now presented as 2″ high vinyl characters, Mario and Luigi can stand tall on your desk ,or work place, representing their pixellated other selves. A spin-off from Donkey Kong this peripatetic pair (I mean they got just about everywhere in their adventures) led the Nintendo video games
drive from 1983.

This vinyl set also includes our other favourite characters in glorious clour: Bomb-omb,Bullet Bill,Paragoomba, and Yoshi. Dream on in the Mushroom Kingdom with these guys!

Further details of how you can get your hands on these miniature screen icons can be had from
the Firebox website.

So how many official James Bond films have there been? Do I really care whether it was one more or less. I loved them all. If you are in a pub quiz team ,or are a ‘geek’ for the real number, why not try this
klast site

for a list of the films that have been made.

As a stamp collector,I used to collect every UK commemorative new issue that came out, there were: the many and various annual Christmas stamps ,including The Nativity(1994); British Gardens (1983);the Edward Lear miniature sheets (1988);The Civil War 1642-51(1992);Music & British Composers (1980);The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award(1980);Famous People(1980);London Landmarks; British Birds, and so on. I collected many more. I have them still.

Now, after a period of several years, I am eager to purchase another new issue. Go now, if you will, to the
Royal mail website for your set of the 007 Bond stamps in January.
